My Approach

I believe that the goal of therapy is to help you find peace. What does peace look like, feel like to you? I work collaboratively with you, meeting you where you are. Are you having relationship issues? Suffering from depression or anxiety?

My therapeutic approach is that of a guide, helping to move you toward self-discovery by developing a strong and healthy sense of self through the exploration of your feelings and how you relate to others and your world. I believe that the therapist's approach should be tailored to the needs of each individual and my goal is to assist you in your journey.

My work is client centered and compassion focused. I tend to be active, asking questions and expressing thoughts during sessions. I listen carefully not just to what you say but to how you feel. I provide a safe space to touch the tender places we all hold, while encouraging exploration and growth. Sometimes the work is about skill building and mindfulness, building your capacity to sit with your feelings, helping you expand your tools for living. Sometimes it is more dynamic and introspective.

I have worked with a broad range of clients over the last 30 years, and also specialize in working with issues around depression and anxiety, codependency and addiction, relationship issues, work/life balance and stress management and the LGBTQI+ community.

In this time of unprecedented access via the web, I have shifted my practice to online care.
